Community Connections & Cooper Home

 

Poudre School District’s COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS assists PSD students with significant learning needs  transition from high school to adult living/post secondary education.  CSU art education students teach weekly art classes that allow Community Connections students to explore art materials, processes and tools. Exploration and inventiveness are encouraged and fostered during the artmaking process. In this program students use both 2-D and 3-D materials while exploring self-expression as well as self discovery.

CHHCSU students are responsible for developing a curriculum, teaching, accommodating, documenting, and exhibiting art for students in this program. The selected portfolios below are documents of teaching and learning.

Documentation shows COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS students that their work is valued and provides an archive that traces the history of the class and the pleasure in the process of learning experienced by the students and teachers. It becomes a powerful tool for reflection and learning for both the teacher and student.
